Compositek

Designed, engineered and manufactured by COMPOSITEK, our fiberglass reinforced polymer structure panels and shapes offer outstanding UV and corrosion resistance, high-strength-to-weight ratios and incomparable system flexibility that provides clear advantages over concrete, steel, wood and other conventional materials.

Premium Materials

All COMPOSITEK FRP engineered waste water treatment systems are manufactured with premium corrosion-grade isophthalic polyester resins, and are modified with UV inhibitors to maximize weathering resistance. All component surfaces are coated with a protective barrier of spun polyester to provide even greater weathering and corrosion resistance properties.
The result is a composite system solution with the highest level of protection available for a wide variety of applications including water and wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, mining, chemical storage and processing, and other harsh environments.

Design Flexibility and Versatility

With a significantly higher strength-to-modulus ratio than steel, COMPOSITEK’S structural shapes are particularly effective under repeated cyclic loading conditions associated with high winds and fluid dynamic pressures. Our resilient structural members also provide superior impact protection.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Baffle Walls – Clairton, PA

FRP Baffle Walls provide process control for dwell time and flow. The Fiberglass material design allows for ease of installation, corrosion resistance, and future design flexibility. FRP structural support members are attached and braced to the existing tank walls and floor. The location and sizing of these supports are governed by design criteria for potential differential pressure and other design load conditions. The walls are easily installed around uneven wall and floor geometries, and provide for pipe and equipment penetrations.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Baffle Walls – Koppel, PA

FRP Baffle Walls are required in a variety of process tanks including aeration tanks, chlorine contact tanks and clearwells. COMPOSITEK’s designers work with the customer in selecting and specifying the correct material formulations and structural designs to create increased value and process control. Framed wall penetrations and connections offer flexibility for installation and operation. A variety of FRP baffle wall panel options are available to achieve the design load and process flow criteria and mitigate budgetary concerns. COMPOSITEK helps you achieve an engineered solution to your process needs.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Baffle Walls – Product Highlights

FRP Baffle Walls can offer unique design opportunities. Whether your wall requirements are exceptionally tall, or unusually wide, COMPOSITEK can provide a solution. FRP is an ideal material choice for existing tank retrofit applications. FRP material has a high strength to weight ratio, which allows for structural support over a large area with less concern about weight loads on older existing tank floors. FRP structural material is easily field modified for penetrations and for man access doors.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Sludge Drying Beds – Product Highlights

COMPOSITEK designs and fabricates FRP buildings to meet the harsh corrosive environments in the wastewater treatment industry. Translucent FRP panels provide an ideal solution for sludge drying and other outbuilding applications. These high strength, UV resistant FRP panels allow for increased drying times while protecting the process from environmental conditions. Opaque FRP Panels of varying profiles, weights, and colors are also available to solve your industrial building construction requirements.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Tank Cover – Foxburg WWTP, Foxburg PA

Fiberglass Reinforced products offer unique advantages for design and installation over conventional materials. These corrosion resistant products are easy to field fabricate with standard construction power tools. The polymer composite can be modified to provide fire rating characteristics or to achieve NSF61 approvals for potable water applications. FRP materials offer a high strength to weight ratio making them easy to handle and install when compared to galvanized steel structural members.
The FRP decking material highlighted includes a “concealed fastener” design (hold down screws are installed into the leg on the left) and interlock to form a positive seal at the joint. An optional feature shown is a crushed-quartz bonded top surface for added safety where foot traffic is high.
